  • Coordinate support and resources in non-clinical case management for behavioral concerns and crises for SUU students that are represented in the DOS office, assigned by the Director/Assistant Director/Coordinator of Student Outreach and Support.
  • Work with Withdrawal Support team to meet with students who intend to withdraw from SUU to determine what might be done to help retain the student and/or ways we can improve our services at SUU to prevent similar students from withdrawing.
  • Work with Director/Assistant Director on outreach processes providing support and intervention to students who are struggling with their academic performance, course attendance, and/or health and wellness.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills & Experience):

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  2. Proven self-motivation and organizational abilities to plan and independently execute projects/tasks within specific deadlines, and while exercising good judgment successfully assess, balance, and prioritize numerous competing concerns.
  3. Ability to represent the Dean of Students and the Student Outreach and Support offices to senior leaders of the university, current/prospective students, their parents, families, and the community.
  4. Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills – excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills including proven effectiveness in speaking on a one-on-one basis and making oral presentations before groups. 5. Ability to diffuse frustrated students and remain calm in tense conversations.
  5. Experience working with diverse groups - students, parents, families, and communities.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Masters level student
  2. Knowledgeable in the areas of student development, mental health, equity, diversity, inclusion, and other important issues related to student success.
  3. Experience in using Canvas, Banner, Degreeworks, Gmail, Google docs, etc.

Working Conditions and Schedule:

This position works in an office setting, usually in a climate-controlled office during regular office hours (8 am to 5 pm, M-F). Hours will be predetermined & approved with supervisor.
